Black Barbie

Easter

Hey guys,
Happy Easter for those who celebrate it. This is what I wore for Easter dinner. This Charlotte Russe dress is my favorite because it emphasizes my curves. However, the dress is super tight so it can be a tad unforgiving.
But the main point of this post is to show off my new shoes from Choies. They're supposed to be Stella McCartney's white platform knock offs. They're a tad big but I love them so much. I haven't wore them out yet because I have a super cute outfit in mind.
I straightened and cut my hair. My hair was originally few inches away from hip length but I desperately needed a hair cut. The cold weather in Indiana and a mandatory swimming class for P.E. really damaged my fragile strands. I'm now trying to take care of my hair more. Hopefully I would see quick progress.
Hope yall had a great day and Easter!

Power Shot

Hey guys,
I hate wearing coats, so instead I wear a cardigan, a jean jacket and a fur vest together to keep me warm. It surprisingly works, especially when the weather is 30 degrees and above.
New York has been surprisingly cold recently and I can't stay outside for more than a few minutes even when I wear a proper coat. I'm afraid to go back to Indiana when the semester starts because the weather has been quite frightful over there.

I took these pictures with my new camera I got for Christmas. Bless my parents for even buying me a camera. I received a Canon Power Shot SX510 HS. Nothing overly fancy, but I love it regardless.
It's quite embarrassing how I can barely work a camera or even edit my pictures. It's a learning process, I assume. At least all these pictures are the same size.
I'm happy at how these pictures turn out, especially since I struggled so much at the beginning.

Hope y'all have a nice day and stay warm, xoxo.

Thrift Shop

 Hey guys,

So my school has these SYR dances which stand for Set Your Roommate up (originally it stood for Screw Your Roommate). Your roommate is suppose to set you up with a date and apparently that's how a lot of people met their spouses, blah blah blah. Ha, this unfortunately reminded me of high school. Actually, I'm sadly started to realize that high school never ends....

But I digress! My friend and I went with our guy friend together because we could care less about getting dates and it was last minute. The theme of our dance was Thrift Shop, so I ended up going to the thrift store and buying two shirts.

I bought this shirt and another denim shirt with small little stars. A lot of people bought outrageous clothing that they could never wear out in public. But nope, I'm a broke college student, so if I'm going to buy something, I'm going to have to wear it more than once.

I originally wore this outfit with my big cheetah print shoes seen in this post, but to make this look more wearable, I wore these wedges for the photoshoot.

Excuse the crazy hair, it was windy!
Hope y'all enjoy your day, xoxo

Tulle and Velvet

Hey guys,

So Lauren and I did another photoshoot on Friday before I left for break.
This skirt has a floral print, but the dark color and material make it look grungy instead of lively and bright. This skirt oddly reminds me of death and when I wear it, I feel like I'm mourning the end of summer. (Gosh Amber, dramatic much?)

Lauren brought a handful of tulle and I decided to just swing it around. I'm surprise at how amazing the pictures look; she's such a good photographer. Definitely check out her website, her photos are breathtaking.

Hope y'all have a nice day, xoxo.

Hey guys,

So I did this photoshoot with Mike for his photography project. He's taking famous album covers and movie scenes and putting a fashion twist on them. I believe mine was the Beyoncé's B'day. I had so much fun!

Hope y'all have a nice day, xoxo.

Oh and I'm home for a week. I miss New York.

Purple Haze

I am not flipping you guys off, just making that clear. I'm pointing to my hair
Hey guys,
This is what I wore to another friend's grad  party. The dress code was casual, so I tired not to go all out with my outfit. I tend to wear this shirt a lot, as you can see in 'Lazy Sundays' and 'Owls and Giraffes'. I'm going to continue to wear this shirt till it falls apart, which won't take long.

Anyway,MY HAIR IS PURPLE! After the party, my friends and I ended up in CVS and I bought Splat Hair Chalk in Violet Sky. I always wanted to dye my hair a lavender, lilac color and decided to buy the hair chalk , since it would be a fun way to get the color without the commitment. It worked really well, but it faded throughout the day since I didn't use hair spray to lock in the color. It washes out the minute you wet your hair ( insert sad face here).  After using the hair chalk, I definitely want to dye my hair. I think a lavender/lilac color would be a cool contrast against my dark complexion.
