Warby Parker's Fall Collection 2013 : 'Sharpen Your Wits'

“It’s just that I know the world is so wide and full of people and exciting
things that I just go crazy every day stuck in these institutions. I mean if
I don’t get started soon, how will I get the chance to sharpen my wits?
It takes lots of training. You have to start very young.”

I was personally contacted by Warby Parker to help launch their new limited edition Fall Collection and I couldn't be more excited. Believe it or not, I wear my eyeglasses 24/7, 365 days a year. So to see a new glasses collection, I'm like a kid in a shiny, new candy store.

Warby Parker just launched their new collection at 7 AM (EST) this morning. The collection reminisces back to the early 1960's, " the shaky years when social change was nearly taking off..."

The collection debuts five new frames - the Ames, Ripley, Rowan, Holcomb and Ellison- which is an obvious homage to their literary favorites. There are 15 options to choose from, both sunglasses and eyeglasses, which provide the midcentury, vintage style many search for at flea markets ( and even thrift stores!)

Each acetate frame cost $95, while both acetate and stainless steel frames cost $145. The main reason why I love this collection is because it gives back to the community; for each pair sold, a pair is given to someone in need.

Each five new frame is different; the Ames has a bold brow line and generous width, Ripley has round stainless steel- rimmed lenses, Rowan has rectangular lenses that lend a professorial authority, Holcomb has a subtle cat eye and Ellison has timeless wire accents.

These are some my favorite pieces of the collection:

   Ellison Sunglasses in Whiskey Tortoise
Holcomb Optical Glasses in Marbled Sandstone

Ripley Optical Glasses in Oak Barrel

If you love vintage, midcentury style glasses, you should definitely check out the new 2013 Fall Collection. I definitely love the whole concept behind the glasses and I'm more than excited for this collection.
